According to a report by Bleeping Computer, some hackers have make a new way on YouTube to promote a phishing bot that can deceive YouTube users by downloading the application.
The only purpose of the application is to steal Bitcoins and other cryotocurrencies by acquiring sensitive information from the user’s computer.
A video security expert on YouTube said that videos on YouTube promote a tool capable of creating and Bitcoin mining free of charge without having to do anything.
The application is a malicious program that contains Trojan, a program that can steal information and access users’ crypto-portfolios.
According to the report , the hackers download a series of videos that contain links to guide the user in the application set-up, directing the user to the Setup.exe file which in turn causes the device to be hacked.
The malicious program will then search for the addresses and data of the victim’s crypto wallet and send it to the hackers via Telegram.
Researchers have discovered that the malicious program supports a wide range of addresses of Bitcoin wallets and other cryptocurrencies.
YouTube users affected by the program have been advised to change all passwords used on all platforms immediately and transfer tokens to a new wallet.
